BaseCo is building the next generation of real estate experiences. Our platform, BΛSE, allows home buyers to explore, customize, and understand homes in a fully interactive 3D environment before they're built. Buyers can upgrade finishes, receive real-time pricing, and continue engaging with their home after purchase through an integrated marketplace. We work with real estate developers to transform how homes are sold, experienced, and owned across the entire lifecycle.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior 3D Technical Lead to own and define the 3D platform at BaseCo. This is a foundational role with significant autonomy and influence. You will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of our 3D experience, from rendering and performance to tooling, pipelines, and integration with the rest of the product. You will also own the technical foundations of our digital twin system, including how buildings are represented, parameterized, configured, and rendered across many listings. You'll work closely with our product, frontend, backend, and infrastructure teams while serving as the primary owner of all things 3D.

What You'll Do

Own the end-to-end 3D technical vision for BaseCo
Define and maintain model ingestion pipelines (e.g. Sketchup / CAD → engine web/runtime)
Design and implement a high-quality, web-first 3D experience
Evaluate and select technologies (WebGL, Three.js, Babylon.js, engine-based approaches, etc.)
Balance visual fidelity, performance, and scalability in browser-based environments
Define pipelines for creating, optimizing, and delivering architectural 3D models
Experiment with emerging tools, including AI-assisted 3D workflows
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate 3D into the broader platform
Establish standards and best practices for future 3D contributors
Help scale the 3D function as the company grows

What We're Looking For

We're less concerned with a perfect résumé and more focused on taste, ownership, and execution. You likely have:

Strong experience building 3D experiences that run in the browser
Hands-on knowledge of WebGL or modern web-based 3D frameworks
A strong visual sensibility alongside solid engineering fundamentals
Experience optimizing 3D content for performance
Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
A bias toward experimentation and iteration
The ability to operate independently and define direction
Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal), visualization, simulation, or architectural workflows is a plus—especially if you've shipped or experimented with web delivery.
